Marcelo Martinez Vieira is a crossover cello player with a solid education, a passionate and creative composer and improviser, always in transit between different musical styles and diverse artistical activities. He holds a Master of Music in cello performance and jazz studies from Louisiana State University. Check out his Cello&Voice Project and other works!
CHRISTIAN HOWES' CREATIVE STRINGS WORKSHOP- June 19 to 23
Marcelo is part of the faculty of Christian Howe's Creative Strings Workshop where he teaches and performs at the Festival produced by one of the greatest jazz and popular music violinists Christian Howes. Activities will include to direct an ensemble, teach clinics on Brazilian music and the art of playing a bowed instrument and singing. During that week several performances and jam sessions take place. One of the performances will feature Marcelo's ensemble playing Brazilian tunes and Cello&Voice + Violin&Voice songs.
